Poem: Transfusion

I’ve lost too much

Be it sanity

Be it blood

Parts of me are gone

That I can’t take back

Trade with me

I know it’s not a good deal

But count this as your charity work

Your daily good deed for that man above

You’ll get to save a soul

Be it mine

Be it yours

Be it both

So give me your blood

Sorry for being so direct

We both need it

But you’re at home in your skin

And I’m a walking stranger

Who needs a share of identity
