Poem: Love for My Beloved Mother

Portsmouth Point is delighted to feature the first article from a student at Kikaaya College School, in Uganda; we hope that it is the first of many.

The poem, 'Love for My Beloved Mother' is by Nabasumba Shadia (Senior Three)

LOVE FOR MY BELOVED MOTHER
Heart of love, inspiring to everyone.
Guides me whenever I go wrong.
Pulls my soul up with her loving words.
Holds me up in her warm arms.
Protects me from my fears.
OH mother, I can’t stop thinking about you.
Your love makes me feel strong.
I would wish to become a warrior like you.
A woman who can give up everything for her children.
OH mother, I can’t stop thinking about you.
You always advise us to do the right thing.
You always pray for us to have a better future.
You work hard to see that we are happy.
Whenever you are away, the family is incomplete.
OH mother, I can’t stop thinking about you.
You are the mother of all nations.
Everyone would wish to have a mother like you.
God created you with love and a caring heart.
You are loved by many including me.
OH mother, I can’t stop thinking about you.
