The borough of Liverpool was founded by royal charter in 1207 by King John, and was made up of only seven streets in the shape of the letter 'H'.

 Scouse is a type of stew  made from chunks of meat with potatoes, carrots and onion. It is particularly associated with the port of Liverpool, which is why the residents of that city are often referred to as "Scousers".

 There is a mythical bird called the Liver bird which is on the crest of the city Liverpool. The two birds on top of the Liver Building clock towers are called Bella and Bertie, with Bertie looking over the city and Bella guiding sailors home.

 Liverpool is well known for a fantastic Irish heritage.  This is because approximately 200 years ago people escaped to Liverpool leaving poverty and famine behind in Ireland.

 Liverpool is also the city with Europe’s oldest Chinatown, which was first established in the mid-1800’s.

 Liverpool cathedral is the largest cathedral in the country.

 There are 2 famous football clubs in Liverpool. By November 2023,

Liverpool had won 99 of their 243 meetings and Everton had won 67, with 77 games ending in a draw.

 Liverpool is famous for its musicians. Famous examples include: The Beatles, Red Rum Club and Echo and the Bunnymen.
