Business Boost!

 by Lizzie LeMarquand

On the 29th November, 15 year 13 Business pupils accompanied by Mr Hipperson and Mr Fisher gathered in the Westfield London to attend a Tutor2u grade Booster seminar event. The day which contained sessions from a number of charismatic senior examiners and Tutor2U contributors was very insightful, helping us with answer technique to develop our business exam skills outside of the classroom. Whilst we have gone through a number of these skills already in class over the past two years, it was hugely valuable to hear senior examiners confirming their importance in the workshops.

We were taught many exam style skills such as analytic and evaluation techniques, which were delivered in an interactive way, giving us the opportunity to get involved and show off our own knowledge and understanding of Business. We won prizes such as badges and pens for our answers and the PGS pupils were certainly some of the most competitive there. The activities and questions given required us to challenge ourselves in both worded, longer answers and mathematical practices, verbally to our peers, teachers, or on the mic to those at the event.

This gave us a big boost our confidence on answering questions to time constraints similar to exam pressure and using specific business terminology. It helped as a revision tool to revisit topics we were taught in year 12. As a whole, it was a valuable experience that I would do again and would recommend to others studying Business in future years.
