On Sunday 17th of September India and Sri lanka faced each other in the finals of the Asia cup. It was a devastating loss for Sri lanka. They won the coin toss and decided to bat first but cricket is a game where anything can happen in just a few balls. The Lankas were humiliated by the Indians and were 51 all out in just 15.2 overs. You have to understand that this is a 50 over game and people who came to watch expected it to be hours because generally speaking a 50 over game would take 3-5 hours. However, this was a mere hour of disappointment from the Sri Lankan side. But it wasn't just that they batted badly, it was also that India’s bowling attack was just too good and there were a few unplayable balls.One cricketer who shone with the ball was Mohammed Siraj.
He picked up 6 wickets for 21 runs (6-21) taking over half the batting order of the Sri lankans. Siriaj ended up taking the best player of the match and Kuldeep Yadav took player of the tournament taking 9 wickets. As a Sri Lankan myself i am obviously sad about the loss but looking forward the boys have done very well to get this far and the world cup is just around the corner so i can see them doing good. The whole Sri Lankan team are young players and so they will continue to learn and get better to become an unstoppable side.
