The 10th of February marks an internationally celebrated event in schools, called pink day. The event started when students David Shepherd and Travis Price saw another student, who was wearing a pink shirt, being bullied in their Central Kings Rural High School in Nova Scotia, Canada.
They decided to show support for the student by getting everyone at their school to wear pink the following day. Now pink day is celebrated not only in Canada but around the globe and is one of the key movements to stopping bullying.
At PGS everyone in
the Middle School came in wearing something pink. If forgotten, Mrs Bush had
backup ribbons and wigs. It was fun to see the school community come together
as a whole and support this cause. There was even a cake sale, to raise money
for charity.
