This Week's Maths Puzzle

 by Tom Fairman

I hope you had fun puzzling out the various combinations and finding that the only solution to the puzzle of NORA x L = ARON is 2178 x 4 = 8712.

This week it is a slightly different type of problem, with more word play linking to Mathematics.

An intelligent horse learns arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry but is unable to understand the Cartesian coordinates of analytic geometry. What proverb does this suggest?

Happy puzzling.
