Play in a Day was an activity for middle school which happened on the 9th of October. In it, the school houses competed to put on a play in 1 day, as the name suggests. My particular group, in Eastwood, had the quote ‘Whatever you imagine is real’. We made a play about a young boy whose brother goes missing and he slowly discovers he has the power to create anything from his imagination. While we didn't get through to the final, we all had fun and I feel it's safe to say the majority of the school had a great time doing this. Huge congratulations to Summers house and especially Sri Vutukuri, for winning with their brilliant performance. While the experience let pupils play around with their creativity, we also learnt to advance our ability in multiple parts of PGS Core - curiosity, courage to perform in front of others, compassion about acting, and finally collaboration - we all helped out in our selected groups and contributed to our unique performances in our own individual way, giving the plays that special feeling. I would also like to credit the Year 11s, who were a vast help and who while not only directed, they directed well. They got involved and made sure everyone was participating and felt like part of the team. However, my biggest thanks goes out to the general PGS community for welcoming the new children into their plays and keeping everyone upbeat and uplifting others when possible.
