The Invincibles

The Invincibles. Arsene Wenger’s monster, the man who revolutionised football to a point that he created a beast that could not be beaten. Unlike any other side in football history, this team was almost certainly the greatest football team to ever grace God's green Earth. Or are they? The answer is yes and I shall explain why, and frankly, if you do not agree with this opinion by the end of this scripture then I’m afraid free thinking is not for you.

Many people will argue that it is the Manchester United treble-winning side that is the best premier league side of all time, but, unfortunately, the man who led them to this fabled achievement believes the Invincibles to be a greater achievement. Some would say three is better than one, but to them, I would say you are wrong. Not losing is better than three, having a golden premier league is better than three trophies. The treble is an imperious achievement but the invincibles is not just imperious it represented football at its purest, not losing. 

Perhaps one would argue that the 95 point Chelsea team was a better team than the Invincibles. They did only lose 1 game and conceded a mere 15 goals. But lose they did. They were not rewarded with a golden premier league trophy for their endeavors because the facts of the matter are, not losing is infinitely harder than conceding 15 goals. The 95 point Chelsea team is to the Invincibles what Clement Atlee is to Winston Churchill. A good replacement but not quite as good, not quite the greatest. Just ever so slightly worse, but worse you were. You can be bankrolled all you want, but no amount of Russian money will ever buy you a golden premier league trophy. 

And finally, some may argue that the Manchester City centurions teams eclipsed the achievements of the Invincibles. But this greasy team lost twice. Not once but twice were they bettered by the opposition. It showed that no matter how much oil money is invested in a club, they will never quite be adequate. They are merely a gold trophyless, soulless toy for an oil baron. 

Therefore, it is quite easy to see that the invincible side is quite easily the greatest side of all time. Their greatness can not be quantified because the people who quantify it have no idea what it feels like to achieve such a thing. The only way to describe them is the Golden premier league winning team. The best of all time.
