England won the test series 2:0
Player of the series was awarded to England's captain Joe Root.
He was awarded this because of his fine first test innings score of 228 he also scored 186 in the second test!
It was fair to say that Sri Lanka were outplayed with their highest score of 111 by one batsman.
After the return to cricket England have shown great potential, with Joe Root showing that he has not lost his touch.
