Year 12 Lit Soc's focus of
powerful and influential women in literature continued this week with a
fascinating talk from the independent academic and research, Dr Helen Cole. Dr Cole introduced the society to the 17th century writer Margaret Cavendish
and her poem 'The Hunting of the Hare'. The presentation focused on the
extraordinary life of Cavendish and the way in which she was seen as a 'mad'
woman for pushing the conventions of the time.
Pupils and staff were thrilled to be introduced to another female writer who
was challenging societal expectation and doing so with great success. Listen to this week's talk to hear more!
