PGS
Archives, Library, the English Department and Portsmouth Point are excited to launch this new
inter-generational Oral Archive Project called ‘Interesting Times.’
‘Interesting Times’ is an oral project where pupils
in Year 11 and Year 12 are invited to undertake inter-generational interviews,
which could include grandparents, great aunts and great uncles or other close
family members.
We are living in ‘Interesting Times’ and the aim is
for pupils to learn how previous generations lived through similar
experiences.
Pupils will learn how to conduct a successful
interview using resources provided by the school before audio recording their
inter-generational interviews. It would also be useful if the interviewee
shared photographs to be used in the final production of the audio recording,
which will be launched via the Portsmouth Point YouTube Channel.
With the half term fast-approaching, this would be
an excellent project to undertake during the break with family members.
Interviews need to take place following current Government guidelines regarding
social distancing.
Deadline:
Friday 19th June 2020
