To succeed in theatre, one needs experience.
Recognising that, PGS have this year introduced the ‘Arts Award’, a
super-curricular programme from Trinity College London which gives students
such experience. A prerequisite of receiving the award is an interview with an
industry-level practitioner; a West End director, for example.
I was delighted to join Verity Glading in
interviewing Lisa Mansson, the Deputy Stage Manager of SIX! The Musical, which aims to retell the story of Henry VIII’s
six wives. We joined them on their tour stop in Chichester, keen to know what a
Stage Manager does and get a sense of what it’s like to always be on the road.
After the interview, we were given an
exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the set and even got a photo on the stage!
You can listen to the interview here.
