The Green Party is committed to finding ways of bettering our country and the individuals within it, whilst being committed to our core environmental beliefs.
A key part of this is our Green New Deal, which
will greatly benefit our wonderful nation and work against the impeding doom of
climate change. Despite Parliament stating that we are in a state of climate
emergency, other parties are failing to properly address this highly pressing
issue, and instead focus on trying to alienate a significant part of the
country with their Brexit decisions. We believe that the 2016 referendum was a
time when the dissatisfaction with the typical parliamentary status quo was
brought to the surface through a democratic statement.
Following three years of
failure from the government to make any progress with this issue, and making it
the only focus of Parliament, we believe the best solution is more democracy in
the form of a second referendum. We will campaign on the side of Remain as,
despite issues with the European Union, we think the collective benefits of
working against climate change are greater than some of the failings. We will
push the EU away from a corporate dominance and towards people power.
We also seek to benefit the NHS and to end the devastation caused by 10 years of Conservative under-investment. The Green Party will reintroduce nursing bursaries, after the drastic
30% drop in nursing applicants in the year they were removed, to try and save
our NHS. We will place more funding into this and the education system, so the
younger generation can become our hope for the future and not have their talent
shackled. These changes, and more are necessary in order to save our country
and the planet - and care for the people who live in both.
If not now, when?
