The editors of Portsmouth Point wish all of our readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We hope you enjoy the latest issue of Portsmouth Point magazine, presented at our launch party earlier today, where we were delighted to welcome editors present and past (see pictures below).
It is a truth universally acknowledged that we live in revolutionary times. Greta Thunberg, Extinction Rebellion and others argue that only a Green Revolution is adequate to face the climate crisis that confronts us.

Across the world,
democracy seems under strain and authoritarianism on the rise – from the United
States to Hungary, from Brazil to Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, we are in the midst of
a transformative technological revolution which some argue will bring utopia
while others worry about more dystopian potential.
With over 50% of the world’s
population under the age of 30, we are also going through a period of decisive,
and potentially revolutionary, generational shift. Thus, this ‘Revolution’
issue of Portsmouth Point seems
particularly timely.
Christmas
is the anniversary of one of the most revolutionary moments in human history,
the birth of Christianity; however, we hope that your own Christmas is a peaceful
one - and recommend that, as you engage with this provocative issue of Portsmouth Point, you enjoy a soothing
glass of egg-nog.
