Poem: 'Cats'

There are some cats
who like to chase rats,
or behave like spoilt brats.

Do you know any?

Cats that eat fish
cats that eat out of a china dish,
or cats who make a wish.

Cats that are merciful
cats that are called Percival.

Cats that are posh
cats that really could do with a wash!

Cats who like to play
cats that like to sway,
or cats that shout HOORAY!

Cats who chase mice
cats who have lice,
or play around with a board-game dice.

Can you think of any?
Cats spending a penny?

Cats with collars made of shells
cats who fall down great big wells,
or cats that play with jingling bells.

Cats that like to dream
cats that like to rip a seam,
or cats who scream!

Well my cat
does all of that
- but I prefer him to a rat!
