Photography: Mercury Transit of the Sun

by Tony Hicks

This Mercury transit is the last one for 13 years. The next one is on November 12—13, 2032. I couldn't wait another 13 years so had to take a few shots.

The black dot is Mercury.

This Mercury transit lasted around five and a half hours in total. The last one, in May 2016, lasted about seven and a half hours. In May 2095, there will be another one almost as long. but I don't think I will bother with that one.
