Monopoly: the Best and Worst Streets to Buy

by Fola Odofin

“Which is the best and worst street to buy on a Monopoly board?”

Having asked myself this question many times, I decided to do some research to find the answer.

I based my figures on how much the owner would get if an opponent landed on the street and how much it costs to get to the number of houses/hotels.

Firstly this is a table showing how much the owner would get. The number drops when it gets to blue as it has only 2 streets instead of 3.

This table is based on how much it costs. Unlike the other column , the 1st has a different number as the person has just bought the street. The 2nd column is how much it cost to build. However, to get to  the hotel , you have to buy the 4 houses.

Finally, the table shows the profit between the other 2 tables.

In conclusion, yellow is the best street to buy whilst brown is the worst to buy. This research, though, is just for the cost not the most landed on.

Now you have the secret to beat other players at Monopoly!
