In these challenging times, things might seem a bit strange
and you may not have any sort of routine any more, but here are 3 things that
you can do to keep your brain active (along with school, of course!):
- Watch (useful) YouTube
videos. Two recommended channels are TED and The Studytube Project. TED is
the YouTube platform where TED Talks are uploaded. They are a great way to
gain some knowledge about loads of different topics and hear interesting
stories. The Studytube Project was created by a group of ‘studytubers’,
including Eve Bennett and Jack Edwards, to help people not only with
school work, but also share knowledge on wider aspects of topics or skills
and tips that they may have.
- Learn a new language.
Being able to speak different languages is incredibly useful, so why not
spend some time learning a new one? Duolingo and Memrise are both good
apps that you can use to start learning the basics and keep you
entertained whilst in quarantine.
- Finally, read a book.
Reading has so many benefits, so why not pick up a book? There are loads
to choose from as well; whether you’re into fiction or non-fiction, you
can find something that interests you. You could pick up an old book that
you fancy re-reading, find one that you’ve never read before, or buy one online.
If you prefer audiobooks, then audible is perfect to listen to on a sunny
afternoon.
