by Lottie Allen
Blank face
of winter staring;
Steel eyes
and lips drawn thin.
Release my
spirit unto spring
Hear my
words drowned within.
Black shroud
city hums to dawn
Again, like
clockwork I see thee:
Vision of a
child bestowed upon
My guilty
conscience and nobody.
Worlds
unfold in tender mind
Her softness
warped and wild.
Though
letters cannot reach her,
I reminisce
that child.
